Persian rugs are known as the quintessential oriental rug, famed for its intricacies, meaning you need a lot of knots per square inch to show the detailed floral design and symbolism. Their patterns and designs have set a strong artistic tradition for court manufactories which was kept alive during the entire duration of the Persian Empire up to the last royal dynasty of Iran.
This collection is hand-knotted using a very fine wool from the dhumba sheep dyed with natural commercially-produced dyes. Commonly known Persian designs include Kashan, Kerman, Isfahan and Tabriz known for their diverse color pallet. The number of colors in each rug range from 15 to 25, giving you huge flexibility in terms of style, decor & elegance.
Production: A 9’x12′ rug could be completed in 12–14 months by four to five experienced artisans working five to six hours a day. Specialty pieces with higher knot counts would take the same artisans up to 18 months to complete.
